Privacy Policy
What we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how you can opt out of analytics and advertising cookies.
Effective 21 August 2026
1. Who we are
Pure Healthy Joy is an independent editorial publication covering longevity, metabolism, and nutritional health, published at purehealthyjoy.com. In this policy, "we", "us", and "our" refer to Pure Healthy Joy as the data controller for the personal information described below.
Privacy questions, requests, or complaints: support@purehealthyjoy.com.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us: your email address (and any name you choose to provide) when you subscribe to our newsletter, and the contents of any message you send us.
Information collected automatically: IP address, approximate location derived from it, browser and device type, operating system, referring URL, pages viewed, time on page, and interactions with links and forms. This is collected through cookies, pixels, local storage, and similar technologies.
We do not ask for or knowingly collect health records, medical diagnoses, payment card details, or government identifiers. Please do not send us sensitive health information.
3. How we use information
To publish and operate the site, deliver the newsletter you requested, respond to enquiries, measure and improve which articles are read, keep the site secure and prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
To measure and improve advertising: we use aggregated and pseudonymised data to understand which ads bring readers to the site and which pages they read afterwards.
Legal bases (where UK/EU GDPR applies): consent for non-essential cookies, advertising, and marketing email; legitimate interests for site security and aggregate analytics; and legal obligation where the law requires retention.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
Essential cookies are required for the site to load, remember your cookie choices, and protect against abuse. They cannot be switched off.
Analytics cookies help us count visits and understand which articles are read. Advertising cookies and pixels, including the Meta pixel and Google advertising tags where active, may be used to measure ad performance, attribute conversions, build audiences, and show you relevant ads on other services.
Non-essential cookies are set only where you have consented, or where consent is not legally required in your jurisdiction. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing cookies in your browser, using your browser's tracking controls, or emailing support@purehealthyjoy.com.
5. Advertising and third-party partners
We advertise on and receive traffic from third-party platforms, including Google (Google Ads, Google Analytics) and Meta Platforms (Facebook and Instagram advertising). When their tags are active on this site, these companies may receive your IP address, device and browser information, page URL, and event data such as page views or newsletter signups, and may combine it with data they already hold about you.
These partners act as independent controllers or as joint controllers with us for their own advertising and measurement purposes. Their handling of your data is governed by their own privacy policies: Google Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy), Google Ads data practices (policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites), and Meta Privacy Policy (facebook.com/privacy/policy).
We do not sell your personal information for money. Some sharing with advertising partners may qualify as a "sale" or "sharing" for targeted advertising under US state privacy laws such as the CCPA/CPRA; you can opt out by emailing support@purehealthyjoy.com or by enabling a Global Privacy Control signal in your browser.
You can control personalised advertising directly at Google Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com), Meta Ad Preferences (facebook.com/adpreferences), the Digital Advertising Alliance (optout.aboutads.info), and the Network Advertising Initiative (optout.networkadvertising.org).
6. Sharing and disclosure
We share personal information only with service providers who process it on our instructions (hosting, email delivery, analytics, and advertising measurement), with advertising platforms as described above, with professional advisers where necessary, and with authorities where we are legally required to do so or to protect our rights and users' safety.
If the publication is transferred to a new owner, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
7. International transfers
Our providers and advertising partners may process data in the United States and other countries outside your own. Where data leaves the UK or EEA, transfers rely on adequacy decisions or on Standard Contractual Clauses together with additional safeguards where required.
8. Retention
Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe and for a short period afterwards to honour your opt-out. Analytics and advertising data are retained for no longer than 26 months unless a shorter period is set by the platform. Enquiry emails are kept for up to 24 months.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a portable copy of your personal information; to object to or restrict processing; to withdraw consent; to opt out of targeted advertising, the sale or sharing of personal information, and profiling; and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
Exercise any of these rights by emailing support@purehealthyjoy.com. We will verify your request and respond within the period required by law (one month under GDPR, 45 days under the CCPA/CPRA). You may also authorise an agent to act for you. If you are in the UK or EEA, you may complain to your local supervisory authority, such as the UK Information Commissioner's Office.
10. Marketing email
We send the newsletter only to people who ask for it. Every email includes an unsubscribe link and our contact details, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately. We never sell or rent our email list.
11. Children
This site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, email support@purehealthyjoy.com and we will delete it.
12. Security
The site is served over HTTPS and we limit access to subscriber data to those who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
13. Changes to this policy
We update this policy when our practices or the law change, and material changes are announced on this page. The effective date below shows the current version.
